Happiness in a jar
The other night I made Hainanese Chicken Rice.
I think I could've probably have made it from scratch, but that would've involved a whole chicken, and a whole lotta time.
So, praise be for mixes in a jar!
Taste-wise, it wasn't too bad at all.. I had my doubts, but everything turned out pretty good. Now all I gotta do is get my hands on some of the actual chilli. I made a substitute by mixing a lot of grated ginger with dried chillies and sesame oil.
PS. The lighting makes the chicken look MUCH PINKER than it actually was.
