No Whip Please!

Excelsior Caffe is a rip-off competitor to Starbucks. Note how the signage etc. is quite similar. They were actually pulled into court over the original signage, which was even more similar to Starbucks.

In Japan, coffee tends to be served at these chainstores with big dollops of whipped cream. Gross.

However, my pleas for "uippu nashi de" ("No cream please"), be it at Starbucks, or Excelsior, seem to result in repeated, "I'm sorry, could you please repeat that?" from the counter staff! Yesterday's request to repeat myself was no less than SIX times!

Either way, I keep getting outed as a foreigner at these stores.
