Loneliness ≠ Thriftiness

I felt a bit bad the other weekend when I had a Fi-free frou frou Saturday wandering around the frou-frou area of Daikanyama.

So to make up for it, yesterday I made sure to have a With Fi Frou-frou Saturday. We started off in Jiyugaoka with a bowl of pho. So does that mean it was a Pho First, Fi Frou-frou Saturday?

Anyway, the result of our little excursion was... much purchasing. Including these kicky shoes designed by Ed Tsuwaki from awesome shop Naked Bunch.

YAY!

Throughout our day, we encountered an amusing mixture of waitstaff. I think the Vietnam place — Quan An Tam — we went to for lunch was run by a bunch of gay men. Was it the two toy-like dogs called Randy and Cookie sitting happily by the register that gave it away? Perhaps it was the video of a concert where trannies were singing on stage? Or maybe it was the brusque service we received from the main guy, who seemed to not want to have to deal with us two ladies.

Then we had the friendly waiter at the Paul Bassett coffee place who was trying his very best to get us to buy more than a coffee. "Are you suuuure you don't want some cake? A baked snacky thing? Sure? Really?"

And then we had the young, unsmiling and fairly silent waitress at Sign Daikanyama who, despite the chilly temperatures, was wearing very short, cut-off denim shorts and a very tight-fitting grey long-sleeved top with a scoop neck that showcased her, shall we say, "chestial perkiness".

All in all, a fun day. The Tokyu Toyoko line gets the thumbs up for slightly higher end, boutiquely-cool shopping. As Karen Carpenter has told us before, we've only just begun.
