Accessibility in Japan

Apparently Japan isn't a very accessible place to be. My experience so far, although extremely limited, kinda says otherwise.

First of all, even the washing machines have braille on them. plus, on a little kiosk thing that tells visitors about Hida Takayama, there's a little animated figure doing Sign Language as shown below:

And then there's also the NHK Sign Language News which I managed to catch a bit of. It's also pretty good for learners of the written Japanese language like myself as the more complicated characters are explained:

Even the Japanese Olympian for archery (who got Silver and is a teacher) thanked the nation in a bit of Sign Language. I think I've already figured out the JSL sign for "thank you" in less than a week!
