A Weekend With Fi (J)

My dear friend Fi came to stay with me over the weekend. Both of us met in our university Japanese class waaay back in the 20th century. Well, 1999 anyway. And now we're both working in Japan. She's currently teaching English in Miyazaki prefecture. It was weird and kinda cool to see each other using our Japanese OUTSIDE of our university classroom.

終末にFiという友達は泊りに来た。ニュージー大学の日本語教室で会った。現在、Fiも、私も、日本で働いている。彼女は宮崎県で英語を教えている。お互いの大学授業以外なところで日本語を使っていることが何か、ちょっと不思議で素晴らしいな感じしていた。

She was only here for a whirlwind short time so I gave her but a brief tour of Osaka. It wasn't so much a tour as it was me getting us TOTALLY LOST in Shinsaibashi and coming across cool stuff. Like this here area with its Korean BBQ Sex Machine joint.

残念ながら、Fiは終末しか居なかったので、急いで大阪を案内してあげた。ただ、私の所為で、何回も心斎橋の道に迷ったり、｢ﾂｱｰ」というより、｢適当な散歩」だったかな・・でも色んな面白い所も見つけた。例えば、上に載っている「ＫＯＲＥＡＮ ＢＢＱ ＳＥＸ ＭＡＣＨＩＮＥ」というレストラン（？？）。何か怪しいな～

We also came across a really cool motorcycle with sidecar!! Carleigh was really excited - as you can see..

格好良いなバイクもあった！！Carleighはすっごい喜んでいた。写真からよく分かるでしょう・・

The morning return was slightly brutal, with Fi taking refuge on some seats at Higashi-mikuni station.

朝帰りがちょっときつかったかな・・Fiはかしこよくて、東三国駅で少し昼寝した。その駅は結構面白いと思う。

Interesting station. Why there's a giant Statue of Liberty there I will never know.. perhaps it's a pachinko parlour..

なぜでっかいなＳＴＡＴＵＥ ＯＦ ＬＩＢＥＲＴＹが立ててるかちっとも分からないけど・・パチンコ屋さんかしら・・
