Wish Of The White Pigeon
Yasukuni Shrine...home to the remains of WW2 war criminals who are responsible for the brutal deaths of thousands of Chinese and Koreans; source of yearly international controversy whenever the PM decides to pay his respects to said dead dudes; stomping ground to a posse of right-wingers who drive around in big black vans; and now, supplier of my new favourite Japanese snack--these yummy coated almond morsels called Wish Of The White Pigeon (not to be confused with the white spatters on your shoulder called Attack Of The Diseased Flying Rodent).
Props to Elana who introduced me to them at hanami!
For me, I can't say Yasukuni Shrine is ALL bad. They DO have a cool flea market, AND the fortune I drew from the fortune basket there was Daikichi (the bestest fortune one can draw), so I'm not complaining! I'm also never drawing another fortune again!
